What an incredible weekend it has been. Yesterday I decided to go and grab some photos from the Gold Coast Seaway up towards Seaworld. As I arrived there was a long queue of scuba divers getting ready to jump in. There were snorkelers, scuba divers, swimmers and fisherman. I must say it’s one of he busiest mornings I have seen there for a long time. So much so people were bumping into each other when snorkeling.
Here are a couple shots I got of my mate Dan Bennington (Instagram name @danorlogan) swimming free diving with his SPL water housing for his Gopro Hero.
Camera gear I used?
Canon 5DmkIII
Aquatech C-07 water housing with the upgraded back plate.
Canon 15mm 2.8 Fisheye lens
The conditions were pretty good but not super clean. Maybe next time I go diving I can snap some better shots. One thing I have learnt from starting to free dive over the last month or so is a new appreciate for the marine life. I’ve always taken photographs above the surface and in the surf but rarely like this. It’s opened up my eyes to how much wildlife there is on the Gold Coast.
I'm excited to share a recent milestone in my photography journey. The Coffee Club Coolangatta commissioned me to produce two large pieces of canvas photography art as part of their coastal refurbishment.
