Another one from my Gold coast photography series is called “vortex blue”. Vortex blue was taken on the same day as “reflections of Surfers paradise” and you can read all about it here. Vortex blue is a result of underwater surf photography, it was shot early in the morning just after the sun had risen from the horizon; it was a magical morning with super clear water and golden sand just north of Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast.
Vortex blue is the exact moment in time when a wave crashes down on the surface, the waves pressure creates this cylindrical like effect and rolls on through to the shoreline, eventually becoming nothing but foam and water.
As you’re probably already aware I specialise in ocean art and surf photography on the Gold Coast. I absolutely love waking up to the crisp mornings where the wind is offshore and the waves are groomed to perfection whether they are big or small. I’m often checking the forecasts for the waves, wind and also the tides on Coastalwatch.com, swellnet.com.au and also seabreeze. It takes all these conditions to come together to shoot ocean art.
Vortex Blue can be viewed in person at Gold Coast Ocean images gallery & café in Broadbeach Australia, directly opposite the Gold coast convention centre.
You can purchase this artwork on canvas or metallic prints via my online store. www.jonwrightphoto.com and click store link. All photographs are produced at the highest quality.
