Photographing the Q1 at Night
Surfers Paradise is home to Australia’s tallest building, the Q1. I got out with the camera one evening and managed to grab this shot of it lit up against the night sky. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed capturing it.
About the Q1 Building
Q1 stands 322.5 metres tall in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast, making it the tallest building in Australia and, for a time, the tallest residential building in the world. Completed in November 2005, it held that world title until 2011 and remains a defining feature of the Gold Coast skyline, visible for kilometres up and down the coast. For photographers, it is one of the most striking subjects in Surfers Paradise, especially at night when the tower and its spire light up against the dark sky.
