Have you ever heard of the Tangalooma Shipwrecks? They're a hidden treasure located off the coast of Brisbane, Australia, and they make for some truly stunning photography subjects. Luckily for you, I went off on an adventure to capture the beauty of these shipwrecks from a unique perspective, offering Tangalooma Shipwrecks prints that are sure to make your walls come to life.
Located on Tangalooma Island, the shipwrecks were intentionally sunk in the 1960s to create a breakwall for boats. Today, they are a popular destination for snorkeling, diving, and of course, photography. Aerial photography of the shipwrecks offers a new perspective on this stunning location, allowing you to appreciate the patterns, textures, and colors of the rusted hulls from above.
But how did I capture these stunning images? I chartered a helicopter with the doors off, of course! This allowed me to capture the shipwrecks from a unique vantage point, creating images that are truly one-of-a-kind. By flying in a helicopter with the doors off, it allowed me to take advantage of the open space and get shots that are impossible to achieve from the ground. This also gave me a higher angle compared to the typical drone shots you might see.
Each of the Tangalooma Shipwrecks prints offered by in this new collection is a high-quality fine art print that will bring the beauty of this unique location into your home. Available in a range of sizes, these prints are perfect for adding a touch of coastal charm to any room in your house. Whether you're a lover of beach photos or simply appreciate Australian fine art, these prints are sure to impress.
At Jon Wright Photography, we pride ourselves on offering the highest quality wall art prints that capture the beauty of the natural world. Our Tangalooma Shipwrecks collection is no exception. These prints offer a unique perspective on a hidden treasure of Brisbane's coast, bringing the mystery and beauty of the shipwrecks into your home.
So why not add a touch of coastal charm to your walls with one of our Tangalooma Shipwrecks prints? Each print is sure to become a conversation starter and a cherished piece of wall art in your home. Order now and discover the beauty of Tangalooma for yourself!

If you’re fan of M83 you would know by now that the title above “the city is my church’ is from his song “Midnight City” I though what a great name to blog this series of photographs and also named one of them exactly that.

It’s been a dream of mine to fly in a helicopter to capture unique views and bring them to you for purchasing on canvas. It’s also been difficult to time a helicopter flight with the right conditions for the vision I’ve had in mind.

It was all time, the swell was pumping, the lads were giving shakas left right and centre every 10 seconds, more "gnarly's" were heard than on Blue Crush and it was all ok and vindicated when world champion Mick Fanning rocks up with his Red Bull surf ski and a crew of frothing professionals, what's not to be wowed at? The pure skill and surfing ability of these guys are clearly above many of men and as a photographer, it was a dream come true.

I pull into the familiar car park and it's dark. The headlights over the Seaway seem to guide my way over to the island I want to reach.
It's been a long time. Perhaps too long. The wind is suspect and conditions aren't ideal. It leaves an empty scenario and I anticipate filling it's void.
5 foot and 9 inches of fibreglass and I are about to form a bond. A friendship so deep no one, yet everyone can understand.
