The lone surfer - Burleigh Heads

They say the early bird captures the worm however as surfer on the east coast of Australia, most people rise from their beds to capture a wave before work.

Knowing that every man and his dog would be documenting the Superbank, Snapper rocks and Kirra I thought I'd go out on a limb and head to Burleigh heads for first light.

Gold Coast Aerial photographic Art - The new collection

It’s been a dream of mine to fly in a helicopter to capture unique views and bring them to you for purchasing on canvas. It’s also been difficult to time a helicopter flight with the right conditions for the vision I’ve had in mind.

I pull into the familiar car park and it's dark. The headlights over the Seaway seem to guide my way over to the island I want to reach. It's been a long time. Perhaps too long. The wind is suspect and conditions aren't ideal. It leaves an empty scenario and I anticipate filling it's void. 5 foot and 9 inches of fibreglass and I are about to form a bond. A friendship so deep no one, yet everyone can understand. 

Ocean of gold

Thankfully the ocean was playing music all morning long. The sound of the waves crashing into the sand and the water dancing to its own beautiful songs.

WOAHHH what an amazing way to finish off the weekend here on the Gold Coast. It was torrential rain all of last night and yesterday and today we woke up to overcast clouds, messy surf….UNTIL this happened.
